 “Not as pictured” 2009-09-02
By S. Tollefson (Portland, OR)
Just got it. It looks okay. But it isn’t the wand in the product photo. The picture shows it having an articulated head with an adjustable angle. Not so. The head angle is fixed, which limits its versatility, especially for use on container and hanging plants. Make sure it’s what you want.

UPDATE: It’s not as strong as it looks. During the first hard freeze, even though it was drained of water, contraction of the metal caused the red knurled ring to break, rendering the thing useless. I’ve had a dozen or more different kinds of wands which have all failed in various ways, but this one lasted the briefest of all and failed for the least excusable reason. Best to avoid.

“I love this watering wand!” 2009-08-06
By Franklin F. Smith (Portland, OR United States)
This by far the best watering wand I have used, and I have worn out many plastic cheap ones. This is all metal, aside from the grips and stuff obviously. But the head is metal, the jet and spray nozzle is metal, the whole thing is solidly built and works great. I have been using it all around the yard every night all summer and you would still think it is new. It has 3 spray patterns. One is for flowers and delicate items, it sprays wide but soft. The second is for bushes and shrubs, but it sprays pretty soft and a little more tightly focused. I use this one almost exclusively in my yard and it doesn’t hurt most flowers, maybe pansies or something but not most. The third is marked “tree” and water just comes out like it comes from the faucet or hose end. I haven’t ever used it. This is a good watering wand, you will use many plastic ones during the life of this metal one.

 “Handle turns to goo.” 2009-08-02
By M. Antrim (Reno, NV)
After searching for years for a nozzle that would last more than one season, I found the Toro well reveiwed. I bought the wand and the short version. Both “comfort grip handles” have deteriated in less than 3 months into a gooey mess. It leaves a very sticky residue on your hands that even my ‘water-crazy’ 4 year old won’t play with. Weird. Are you not supposed to let it sit in the sun? I think you’d be better off with an all-metal version.

 “Toro Garden Watering Wand” 2009-07-11
By Richard Gifford
This is a great wand for all our gardens and trees. We have several flower gardens and tomato plants. The wand has three settings flower, shrub and tree. I use them all and it works great.

 “Well thought-out sprayer” 2009-07-06
By W. C. LITTLE (Phoenix, AZ United States)
I use all three settings just on my patio. Whoever designed this knew what was needed in a sprayer. Sturdy construction. Several reviews mentioned leaking where the sprayer connects to the garden hose. My analysis is that your garden hose might be out of round from being dragged around. My garden hose was not out of round, but it still leaked. What I did was to add another hose washer and tighten the connection with a wrench in order to seat the new washer. I now have no leaking even when just tightening by hand.
